What is a cloudbox?
A Xootle Cloudbox is a piece of hardware that allows centralized coordination of printing activities. The cloudbox can be used as a print server.

Can I use a different cloudbox?
No, unfortunately not. The cloudbox features a specific print server that combines the MQTT protocol with print tasks for POS printers. We developed this software ourselves.

Why do I need a cloudbox?
Technically, you don't need a cloudbox if your printers are configured with the MQTT protocol by us.

Can I mix different printer brands?
Yes, you can. It's possible to use printers from different brands. This makes no difference to the cloudbox. You can also connect some standard printers to the print server while using other MQTT printers independently.

What is the difference between a brand printer and Xootle import?
Theoretically, the printers are comparable in terms of speed, durability, and reliability. The biggest differences lie in robustness, weight, and warranty. Own import printers usually have a 1-year warranty. Brand printers typically have 2 to 3 years of warranty. The best choice depends on your business type and size. A seasonal business with 60 seats might do fine with imported printers, while a year-round operation that constantly prints might prefer brand printers. The number of printers and daily usage changes also matter. Some beach pavilions might be small but operate non-stop, making extra robustness or an additional printer a welcome advantage.
